The CR-ITI-BE initiative supports both pre-service and in-service teachers in becoming certified to provide bilingual special education services. Through this initiative, selected candidates enroll in the 15-credit Bilingual Inclusive Education Graduate Certificate Program at SUNY Buffalo State. Tuition, fees, and certification costs are fully funded for eligible participants.
Program Eligibility
Applicants must
- Demonstrate proficiency in both English and Spanish
- Complete a required virtual interview with the Program Coordinator prior to applying
Program Format
First Semester
- Live Zoom classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4:30–7:10 PM, with additional asynchronous online components.
Second Semester
- Supervised field experience in a classroom serving bilingual students with disabilities alongside a certified bilingual mentor, and
Virtual cohort seminars on Tuesdays or Thursdays, 4:30–7:10 PM.
Note: Summer courses are not offered. The program runs only in Fall and Spring.
Funding Information
Funding is awarded each semester on a rolling basis. Early application is highly encouraged.

- Search for “Bilingual Inclusive Education Program” under Advanced Certificates
- Choose your preferred start term
The application fee is waived after a successful interview.
